Kahoot
Equivalent of kahootzky, koot, kook, barnyard, barnwaller, barney, or derivative. Coined in Satellite Beach Florida it's become very popular in the southeast and is slowly spreading throughout the San Diego area surf scene.

Kamaaina
Someone who has lived in the Hawaiian islands a very long time.

Karma
Your inner spirit. Your Chi, Bruddah. It makes surfing and riding what the ocean has to offer such a life enhancing experience.

Keg
A dredging open sucky barrel. Derived from the round shape of a keg.

Kerr-upt
Maneuver named after Josh Kerr that includes both mute and stalefish grabs with an alley-oop thrown in.

Kevlar
A type of glass-plastic cloth which is ultra-strong; occasionally used by surfboard manufacturers for certain equipment, but generally shunned because of its high cost.

Kick
A term referring to amount of rocker in the tail.

Kick It
An act of those in a position of extreme influence who bring something unknown or obscure into the main stream.

Kick out
A ride-ending maneuver in which the surfer turns out through-or over-the back of the wave.

Kickin'
Cool, sweet, awesome, shibby. As in "That was kickin'."

Killer 
Used to further define something as really good.

Kished
To be "kished" is to be exhausted or really tired.

Kneeboard
Conveyance designed exclusively for riding in a drop knee stance, incorporating a skeg, with foam and glass design, and Paipo characteristics on a dimensionally larger scale. Prime specimen being the egg, shaped by Shane Stedman of Australia, circa late 60s or early 70s.

Kneepads
Often made of slightly harder rubber than the rest of the suit to protect neoprene from constant duck diving pressure. Many suits feature molded kneepads, which are pre-formed rubber that ostensibly helps with flexibility.

Knot
The marine term for a nautical mile, which equals approximately 1.2 miles per hour on land. Wind speed and other velocities are always termed as knots when used in marine and aerial environments.

Kook
A person who has an exaggerated idea of his/her surfing capacity, and who as a result interferes with other surfers' enjoyment of the waves. Often-but not necessarily only-applied to beginner surfers.

Kook Cord
Leash, leg rope, etc.

Kookaborn
Generally characterized by a wanna-be surfer who exhibits geeked-out characteristics. Also used to describe someone's geeked-out behavior after a extraordinary ride.

Kookabunga
The exaltation a kookabarn makes when charging a wave. Usually resulting in a trip over the falls or a bout of pearlitis.

Kook-Kot
Coined by the late Gregory Lee Smith - a derivative of the word kook. When someone is a barney or a surfer who thinks they're a better surfer than they are. Example: "That guy stinkbugging down the line is a koot-kot!"

Kootzky 
Someone who is flying down the line out of control in a wide stinkbug stance.

Kowabunga
Expressed initially by Chief Rain Cloud of the Howdy Doody Show, Circa late 50s. Revived by Bart Simpson, Circa late '80s. Rallying cry for riders of surf, snow and street.

Kulana Nulu
The place where a surfer paddles to catch a wave; usually the most distant line of breakers.
